Rustic Weddings with burlap, farmhouse settings and of course, mason jars, continue to be very popular. Just wish they were around when I was a bride. Although we did make many of the elements of my wedding, including the dress. That’s a story for another post…
I recently reviewed a copy of Rustic Chic Wedding by Morgan Hill She’s an Etsy seller (Bragging Bags) who’s turned her passion into a career – I so respect that! She and her husband run a crafty business from their home in California. The book is published by Running Press / Perseus Books.
Rustic Chic Wedding features 55 projects that are great for weddings and more. It’s divided into sections, with projects that fit your chosen wedding theme:
Shabby Vintage Couture Wedding
Rustic, Recycled & Repurposed Wedding
Country Farmhouse Wedding
There also ideas for bouquets and tablescapes. I love ALL of them!
I think many of the ideas can be adapted for home decor use in addition to wedding decor. Plus, the ideas can be used for non-wedding parties, too. For example, you can learn how to make Smores Sticks for a Smores bar – what kid wouldn’t like that?
One of my favorites is the Chip Wood Flower Girl Basket. The handle’s made from twig garland. So sweet!
I also love the hat box that she uses as a cake stand – each section has a cake stand, and who doesn’t want their cake to stand out?
I’m going to try the rag balls demonstrated in the book, but use Dollar Store plastic softballs as the base instead (much less expensive than Styrofoam).
So, if you’re looking for rustic, shabby chic style wedding or home decor ideas, Rustic Chic Wedding is the book for you. I highly recommend it – I found it to be very inspiring.
Disclosure: I received a review copy of this book for evaluation. However, the opinions expressed in this post are all mine! Just ask anyone – I’m not shy about telling you what I think 🙂
