OK, we all have them, right? The scars and burns from accidentally touching a hot glue gun. Heck, it’s sort of a badge of honor. Reminds me of the scene from Jaws, where all the men on the Orca are showing their scars. Ask a crafter if they have glue gun or iron scars, and you’ll see a similar scene unfold before you.
Well, there’s a cool new product that can help to reduce the chance of getting new scars from your hot glue gun. It’s called the Hobby Holster. (It does nothing however for shark attacks LOL)
The Hobby Holster® is a heat resistant, 100% silicone pocket that is designed to hold hot crafting tools. A divided pocket separates a glue gun from hot glue sticks, glitter pens from scrapbook paper, mod podge from felt and endless other odd couples and crafty pairings. The silicone material allows the Hobby Holster to cling to any smooth surface without the use of suction cups or adhesive, it’s easy to place and easy to move when your crafting day is complete.
I LOVE this tool. I received a sample in pink (you can also get the Hobby Holster in blue, lime green or gray). I put it on my craft table, and it hasn’t moved once. It’s perfect! As you can see, I can store both my glue gun and the glue sticks side by side. Since I’ve been making tons of rosettes for my Etsy shop, I use A LOT of hot glue. Now, my glue gun stays safely tucked away, hot and ready to use when I need it.
I can see other uses for this tool caddy, too. For example, if I was going to a sewing retreat, I could use it to hold my scissors, seam ripper, rotary trimmer etc. All those things you need, but can’t find because they get buried on your desk.
Give yourself a little treat – it’s so worth the $19.99 price tag. You can purchase them here at the Hobby Holster website.
